I'm a german metalhead and I work in the graphics business. In art I try to try other ways and live it out. This is how the BLACKMATRJOSCHKAS came about.
I have known the matrjoschkas puppets as children's toys for as long as I can remember. I loved her. This excitement and anticipation when opening each figure, when a new one arises. To my delight, they were almost identical, got smaller and cuter each time.
The BLACKMATRJOSCHKAS have a meaning. We all have the same human form, but we determine the content ourselves. Find out your preferences and talents, make the most of them and show it.
The BLACKMATRJOSCHKAS wear black if they want. They become unique through their individual preferences, there is none like the other. Inspired by pop/sub/culture, they keep evolving.
As a metalhead, I have a thing for black band shirts. I think like many others too. But of course no one is like the other ...through our views and actions. Be unique.
Do we need bright colors to be happy? If I'm wearing black and I'm comfortable, then everything is fine. Shine through your appearance and your personality.
We find clichés everywhere. Let's put an end to this. Don't be an invisible part of the crowd, be yourself. State your opinion, but remain fair and tolerant.

After a few attempts, the basic forms for the known ones emerged BLACKMATRYOSHKAS. And whenever I meet new people or recognize real types, another character emerges.

From the different types I developed oversized "playing cards". With Stencils and the good paint from Montana created the motifs on cardboard. I will be using them for an upcoming art installation

The people who have seen them so far are amazed by the BLACKMATRJOSCHKAS. They ask me if shirts like that are available. So I had the first few tshirts made.
